Stone Island Drops Iridescent Nylon Metal ECONYL Gloves
After unveiling its U.K. subculture-inspired footwear collection and a special 40th-anniversary luminescent jacket, Stone Island is back with yet more techwear, this time around tackling the humble glove. However, in true Stoney form, these are not any ordinary gloves; these are the snappily-named 92077 NYLON METAL IN ECONYL® REGENERATED NYLON gloves.
The pair earns its lengthy name from the material used, namely a Nylon Metal fabric made from the sustainable ECONYL fabric. To make the material, regenerated yarns taken from end-of-life nylon pieces are broken down and recycled during a complex depolymerization process that creates a soft yet crinkly nylon.
This method also lends well to Stone Island's color treatment, here sporting an iridescent metallic silver sheen finish. Contrasting faux leather palms, compass branding on the elasticated cuffs, a nylon mesh interior and clips to keep the pair together round out the technical offering.
The 92077 NYLON METAL IN ECONYL® REGENERATED NYLON gloves can be seen above and bought from Stone Island or retailers like Très Bien for $208 USD.
