Rumors have long abounded as to how Donald Trump achieves his year-round bronzed complexion, with theorists suggesting the use of tanning beds, spray tan, and make-up.

But social media users are now poking fun at how the GOP nominee keeps 'getting more orange' over the course of his presidential campaign.

Social media flooded with comments critiquing Trump's 'very bad look' after he wore a fluorescent orange vest at his rally in Wisconsin Wednesday night.

X users noted that Trump, 78, appeared 'more orange' than usual during the rally, with some joking he finally 'evolved into final, neon orange form'.

Others suggested he was embracing the spirit of Halloween and even compared him to the Oompa-Loompas from the film adaptation of Roald Dahl's novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Trump rolled up to Wednesday's rally in a garbage truck after Joe Biden's extraordinary gaffe the day before when he branded Trump supporters 'garbage'.

Seizing on the moment in classic Trumpian style, the ex-president then decided to keep the orange vest on as he took to the stage in Green Bay.

Now social media users have poked fun at the former president, suggesting that his campaign team made a poor recommendation.

'Trump has often been very good at spinning the news cycle in his direction, so he may be right. But I think this time he may have miscalculated, particularly since orange face and orange vest is a very bad look,' one critic tweeted.

'Trump is very orange today,' noted another.

'Trump's skin keeps getting more orange. It's more orange than his top here,' another X user wrote.

One user called for a conversation with Trump's team. 'I wanna talk to the trump advisor person that thought an oompa loompa face paint looks good wearing an orange vest,' they tweeted.

Another suggested: 'Trump went extra orange for Halloween.'

'Trump evolves into his final, neon orange form!' one joked.

'He's so vain, I bet he tried on the vest while doing his makeup this morning, to see how it would look, and didn't think his face looked orange enough with it on,' echoed another.

One even asked, 'Orange man good? Bring on the orange, President Trump!'

Photographs captured over the course of Trump's 2024 campaign, show that his complexion has varied throughout the year with him appearing more sun kissed the closer he got to election day.

Rumors have run rampant for years over how Trump achieves his bright orange glow regardless of the season.

During his presidency, a White House official, speaking under the condition of anonymity, told The New York Times that he gets his glow from 'good genes'.

Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former White House aide, once claimed that Trump used a tanning Bed in the White House every morning.

But Newman's theory was ultimately ruled out after insiders claimed there wasn't a tanning bed or spray-tan booth on White House property.

An official did admit to the newspaper that Trump applies a little bit of powder - a translucent one as opposed to a bronzer - to his skin before television appearances.

A top Washington dermatologist, who stated Trump was not one of her patients, previously suggested that he uses tanning creams or sprays to achieve his look.

Trump told Wednesday's crowd in Wisconsin that he had wanted to take the high visibility clothing off but his team advised that it would be better if he wore it for his speech.

'I said "No way!" but they said it actually makes you look thinner,' Trump joked.

'And they got me - I said I wanna wear it on stage ... I may never wear my blue jacket again. I may go in this.'

The crowd erupted in laughter and cheers at the rally and a clip of Trump's comments quickly went viral.

One person tweeted: 'We forget he is actually the funniest politician in the western world... by some margin.'

Another said: 'It's amazing how people hate this man. He's so funny and legendary! He truly loves this country and her people!'

A third person wrote: 'Anyone who hates this man is sad. He is a national treasure.'

But liberal media personalities were left reeling over Trump's garbage truck stunt.

MSNBC's Morning Joe co-hosts tore into the former president after he showed up to a rally in Wisconsin on Wednesday in a white trash truck with his 'Make America Great Again' slogan on the side.

Trump's stunt was a direct troll of Democrats who are running to Biden's defense after he called the former president's supporters 'garbage.'

'The hypocrisy, Mika, over a misstatement by Joe Biden, which he quickly corrected, is so laughable,' Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough said to co-host Mika Brzezinski during their Thursday morning broadcast.

'Because this guy [Trump] does this every day.'

He then went into a high-pitched impersonation of Fox News hosts when he continued: 'And then you turn on Fox News and get, 'Oh, how could anybody do this. I've never seen this before from a pres –.'

The gas lighting never ends,' Scarborough claimed. 'They really do think that their voters are that stupid. And it makes me sad for those voters that Donald Trump.'

The whole 'garbage' debacle was sparked at Trump's Madison Square Garden rally on Sunday.

Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe opened the midtown Manhattan rally with a routine that included a punchline calling Puerto Rico a 'floating island of garbage.'

The joke landed flat with Democratic politicians and the Hispanic community.

Biden botched the administration's response to the controversy by slinging back the insult and calling Trump's supporters 'garbage.'

'The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,' Biden said on a call on Tuesday. 'His- his- his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it is un-American.'

Biden's gaffe on Tuesday was immediately compared to Hillary Clinton's infamous 'deplorables' label for Trump supporters in 2016.

Biden's remark has undercut Harris' pitch to work with those who disagree with her and move past the bitter divisions that define American politics.

The back-and-forth continued on Wednesday when Trump showed up to his rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin in a white trash truck and an orange reflective vest over a white button down.

Taking questions as he sat in the garbage truck, Trump said Biden 'should be ashamed of himself' and that Harris was guilty by association.

Trump supporters 'are not garbage,' the former president said.

Trump, meanwhile, distanced himself from the comedian at his Madison Square Garden rally on Sunday, Tony Hinchcliffe, who triggered a separate political firestorm by saying Puerto Rico is 'a floating island of garbage.'

'I don't know who he is...I know nothing about him,' said Trump, adding, 'I love Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico loves me.'
