4 months and uThukela still have not fixed man
When residents reported a leaking pipe in Farquhar Road in February, uThukela were relatively quick to fix the leak.
However, they left a gaping, man-made pothole in the middle of the road when they left.
Weeks turned into months and nobody from uThukela ever came back to fix the massive gaping hole they left.
Now the hole will be a lasting testimony; a monument to bureaucratic incompetence for all to see for years to come after being captured forever by a Google Maps street-view car.
Today (June 9), this massive crater still waits to ensnare any passing car. The only warning a motorist has is fluttering reflective tape attached to sticks…
A resident living nearby had this to say, "I regret that we reported the leak. We will never make that mistake again, as we would rather have leaking water pouring down the street than this accident waiting to happen!"
The resident added that they have reported the matter to uThukela repeatedly, to no avail.
In fact, it was so bad that Ladysmith Gazette Editor Rod Skinner made a video about this very same man-made pothole almost a month ago and uThukela have still done nothing to fix it.
